We finished assembling the Yankee Doodle Dandy quilt kits!
A few days ago we finished our Yankee Doodle Dandy quilt kit assembly! And by “we” I mean Dave (@statelytype) and our girls. I’m so grateful for my crew! Without them I could not do this, especially because this past week I’ve had to attend to some family matters as my Dad has been in the hospital (not for Covid-19) for a week. It is so hard not being able to visit him and rally around him, and I know it’s been even harder for him.
Life always has its challenges but man, this past month sure has been a doozy! My sister and I were joking yesterday about the light at the end of the tunnel and wondering if it’s the end of the tunnel or an oncoming train. It feels like a bit of a toss-up right now for me! I’m so grateful for the people and things in my life that help me: my family, sweet friends, laughter, sunshine, hiking, my scriptures study, and our Heavenly Father and His son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. They love me, they know me, they know my struggles and are there to ease my burdens. I have been pondering a lot lately and one of my Mom’s favorite scriptures keeps coming to my mind. It reads, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6
I keep telling myself, “I can do hard things” and “this too shall pass.” I know there will be a lot of good that comes from all of this, but sometimes it’s hard to see when you’re in the middle of it.
If you’ve read this far in my post, thank you for not giving up on me. Now, can I ask you a favor? Will you tell me something good that you have seen? It helps me to lean on the strength of others when I am weak. And in the immortal words of Troy Bolton, “we’re all in this together.”
