Notes from my Sewing Room

Hello, my quilty friends! It’s been a minute.

My last Notes from my Sewing Room blog post was back on August 15, and somehow here we are in October. I definitely didn’t intend to let almost two months go by, but I think that pretty much sums up this season of life.

It’s just been busy. Kids, school, dance, work, family and all the regular things that somehow fill up every available hour.

Back in August, I gave you a sneak peek at a new quilt pattern I was working on and told you I was hoping to release it in September.

Well, September came and went.

I don’t have any progress on the quilt pattern but I did get it quilted and am currently binding it! I chose this Rifle Paper Co for the backing and I’m in the middle of binding it. I’m using my favorite black & white stripe fabric (Essentially Yours from Moda) and I love the pairing of those two fabrics so much!

I really love this quilt pattern and I’m planning on finishing  it this month, I just have to give it the time & attention it needs. Wish me luck!

I did sneak away to Garden of Quilts a couple of weekends ago, and it was so fun to spend some time surrounded by beautiful quilts, and see dear friends!

And while I haven’t been doing much sewing lately, I have been doing some clearing out.

I’ve gone through my fabric stash and put together the last of the fabric bundles I’ll be selling in the shop. There are lots of color-coordinated fat quarter bundles, and once these are gone, that’s it.

Maybe “making room” is a pretty good description of where I am right now. Clearing some things out, letting some things wait and remembering that everything doesn’t have to happen at once.

I’ll be getting back to that quilt, ASAP!

Talk soon,

Holly
