Summermaid - T-shirt (Brown)

Summermaid—the word is the whole concept. Half summer, half mermaid, stacked bold and tall in tropical pink, green, and orange, with a mermaid tail curling at the bottom and a sun rising at the top. The dark brown background makes the colors feel like a vintage resort print—warm and saturated and a little bit retro.

This isn't one of our usual quilty tees. My husband Dave is a graphic designer, and before Maker Valley he had Stately Type—his design outlet for years, where he hand-lettered things, built custom type, illustrated whatever caught his eye, and basically just made the tees he kept wanting to find and couldn't. Every so often I convince him to bring some back, and this summer collection is the result.
