Modern Mosaic: My Happiest Quilt Pattern Ever
Hello, my quilty friends!
They call it the happiest cruise that ever sailed, but I’m officially calling this the happiest quilt pattern that ever was. Modern Mosaic is my fabric love letter to Disneyland’s It’s a Small World ride and the brilliant art of my creative hero, Mary Blair.

Growing up in Anaheim, I've been going to Disneyland since I was a toddler (Check out this photo of me and my Dad riding "It's a Small World" back when I was pretty small myself). My siblings and I used to pop over to Disneyland after school (yes—this was a real thing, and yes—it ruined me for all other after-school activities forever). Those bold shapes, whimsical colors, and joyful symmetry seeped into my creative brain and never left. You handle it beautifully, whispered my inner child every time I tried something playful on paper… and later, in fabric.
So naturally, this quilt had to exist.
When I started sketching Modern Mosaic, I wanted to capture that exact feeling—color and connection, all working together in harmony. A little bit mid-century, a little bit magical, and a whole lot of joy. The shapes echo the rhythm of the ride; the palette options let you play; the layout feels both structured and full of wonder.
