I wrote the original Yankee Doodle Dandy back in 2017, and it quickly became one of my favorite quilts I've ever made—a scrappy, patchwork American flag built from all the red, white, and blue prints in my stash. I've made it again and again over the years, including smaller versions to hang in my sewing room. And I've been wanting to update it for almost as long.

This refreshed edition has everything the original had, plus a whole lot more. The Scrappy Version is still here—classic patchwork, stitch-and-flip star units, the perfect project for digging through your scrap bin. And joining it for the first time is the Gingham Version: a modern, graphic take on the flag using bold solids and simple strip piecing, with a cheerful gingham effect. Both versions come in four sizes—Throw (58.5" × 81"), Wall (32.5" × 45"), Mini (14" × 18"), and Petite (7" × 9")—so there's a Yankee Doodle Dandy for every spot you have in mind.

Written for confident beginners, with chain piecing instructions for the Scrappy Version and strip piecing for the Gingham—both designed to keep things moving and the whole process enjoyable from start to finish.

Finished Quilt Size: 58.5" x 81"
