Quilter Box - April 2019

April's Maker Valley Quilter Box includes:

  1. Low volume 5” charm pack and Colorful 5” charm pack. These two 5” charm packs were hand-cut by yours truly (Holly Lesue)! I’m hoping my arm and shoulder will recover soon! ;) If you know me in real life or on social media, then you know how much I love patchwork quilts. To me they are simple and classic. A patchwork quilt never goes out of style! I always have a healthy supply of 5” squares cut from my own stash and ready to use when needed. The charm packs include 40 - 5” squares of 20 different fabrics with two 5” squares of each print. There are two charm packs of two different color ways. The first is a collection of low volume, and the second is a collection of bright, cheery colors. You might wonder, what is low-volume fabric? It is fabric of a low color value that usually has a white or cream background with a subtle design on it so that from afar it reads as one color. My version of low volume tends to be more on the “loud” side of low volume. :D The colorful charm pack includes some of my current favorite red, pink, yellow, green, & aqua fabrics. ($30 retail value)
  2. Flatter spray (8 oz. bottle) by Soak Wash Inc. in (my favorite) celebration scent. I LOVE Soak’s Flatter spray! You know how sometimes fabric can smell musty? This spray is the best thing to combat that! Here’s what the people at Soak Wash Inc say about their Flatter spray: “Flatter
makes ironing easier. This starch-free smoothing spray relaxes wrinkles and freshens fabrics. It’s flat out fabulous! Flatter leaves fabric sleek, soft, and static-free. Plus, the mild formation is easy on sensitive skin, and won’t harm the environment.” ($12)
  3. Fräulein quilt pattern by Amy Smart - Diary of a Quilter featuring her Gretel fabric (currently in stores) which she designed for Riley Blake Fabrics. This pattern is pre-cut friendly and was inspired by traditional granny-square blocks and has no bias edges in the blocks! Thank you, Amy! ($9.95)
  4. Woven labels by Amy Smart. Such a fun way to add a little something special to something handmade! ($5.95)
  5. 1” x 6” ruler from Creative Grids. I have one of these right next to my machine and I use it ALL the time! ($6)
  6. I Love to Quilt sticker from Katie Sabin of Just Add Sunshine Inc. As a child of the 80’s I love stickers! I confess to adding stickers to my current notebooks/journals, water canteens, and even to the blank spots on my sewing machine, not getting in way of anything important, of course! ($3)
  7. Apple Enamel pin by Maker Valley + Diary of a Quilter. We produced a few pins in collaboration with Amy Smart - Diary of a Quilter and these apples are just darling with a bit of a vintage vibe. ($9.95)
